Find the walks that already exist

Look at your day as it is. Do you do the nursery pickup, walk to the shop, have a lunch break? Many walks don't need new time, just a slightly longer route. Get off the bus one stop early, take the long way around the lake, or walk while you're on a phone call.

Choose one habit like this to start with. Once it sticks, add another.

Make it easy to get out the door

What stops us is often something small: the shoes are in the storage room, the rain jacket is in the car, and you're not quite sure where to go. Keep what you need by the door, and decide on the route before you leave.

A fixed time means less to think about. "After dinner, before coffee" is easier to follow than "when I have time".

Log the walk your way

When you log a walk in Heia, you decide whether GPS is on. Some people like seeing the route on a map afterwards. Others just want to note that the walk happened and how long it lasted. Both count.

Short walks are walks too. Ten minutes around the block belongs in your overview just as much as a long Sunday outing, and it's often the short ones that keep you going through a busy week.
