Decide what your starting point is
Think about what you want to happen to an activity if you don't actively do anything. Many people prefer everything to stay private until they choose to share it. In Heia you decide whether an activity stays private or is shared with others.
That way sharing becomes a deliberate choice, not something that happens out of habit.
Think about what maps and photos reveal
A GPS route can say more than you might expect – where you live, where your children go to school, or when you're usually out. If a walk starts at home, it may be wise to keep it private, or to log it without GPS.
Photos can reveal places and people too. Always ask before sharing pictures of others, even if it's only with a few friends.
Share to enjoy, not to perform
Share with a few people who cheer you on: a friend who's also trying to walk more, or someone you usually train with. It's easier to be honest about quiet weeks when the people seeing them are people you know.
And remember that it's perfectly fine not to share at all. A walk is worth just as much if nobody else sees it.
